My story
I started my career in corporate life, but I was always intrigued by what was going on beneath the surface - in people, not just business systems.
This interest in human behaviour inspired me to leave full time employment to study Psychology in Australia. While completing my studies, I worked at Deloitte in Melbourne – an experience that highlighted the sharp contrast between academic psychology and real-world business culture, and this sparked a lifelong interest that has shaped my work ever since.
The powerful intersection where organisational thinking and leadership meets human behaviour.
That thread has stayed with me across a career that's spanned a range of experiences, from running two successful small businesses, working in finance and banking, undertaking a post graduate degree in Psychotherapy, working as a visiting lecturer at Brighton University, and time taken out to raise my daughter. Each experience has sharpened my understanding of how people think, act, and change.
The Self Concept is the result of years of integrating these worlds – psychology and performance, awareness and impact, understanding and achievement.
It’s a practical, in-depth approach to transformation that meets people wherever they are in life or work – and helps them move forward with clarity and purpose.
My approach
I bring a wealth of practical experience, with 14 years devoted to therapeutic practice, collaborating closely with individuals in private settings. My career transition from the corporate sector has given me valuable insights into organizational culture.
I draw upon a diverse array of disciplines, including Psychotherapeutic Theories, Neuroscience, Coaching frameworks, Somatic work, Group Dynamics, Experiential learning and an interest in Psychological Differentiation.
I place significant weight on the interpersonal dynamics of my work, recognizing that establishing strong relationships, nurturing trust, and creating non-judgmental spaces are as critical as theoretical foundations.
The development of the Self Concept is a result of over 14 years dedicated to facilitating change in both one-to-one and group therapeutic settings and is centred in a philosophy that embraces collaboration while consistently recognizing the unique individuality of every client.
I am an active member of both the Association of Coaches and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, utilizing their frameworks to guide my coaching and therapeutic approaches, ensuring a consistently high level of competence and effectiveness.
